Here are a couple of ideas that my church does every year:

Set-up a promo booth for the month of January. We’ve asked one person or several of the singles and young marrieds who have attended Next to “man” the booth and get people excited about the conference.
Involve the entire church. We hand out Pray for Next!!! cards. As our church family comes in, we hand one card to each family. We ask our church to put the card on their fridge as a reminder to pray for the conference and those attending.
Have a Next Sunday. We take one Sunday in the month of January and designate it as our Next Sunday. We ask all of the singles and young marrieds (who have attended previous conferences) to wear their Next/Na t-shirts. During announcements one of our pastors will remind the congregation of the conference, give details, talk about our promo booth, ask everyone to pray, and then he will have everyone who has attended the conference stand up. It is a great way to encourage the entire church to pray.

already posted on Facebook, but as another user pointed out, suggestions should be directed here, so here’s my thoughts:
- Last year there was an attempt to do some networking for those in the art/tech world and I don’t know that it ever came together. I know personally that some scheduled networking, especially during this times, would be very appreciated. I would love to grow and expand my Christian network both personally and proffessionally.
(user on Facebook also let me know this is already in the works, so :)
- maybe have Josh have another book giveaway for those who reteeet the NEXT website link. Reading “Dug Down Deep” at this very moment (which I was blessed to recieve a copy from a WaterBrook giveaway) and I am just being so blessed by what God put on Josh’s heart and it has me even more excited for NEXT and the pursuit of digging deep.
- ad in Baltimore’s Citypaper… many would say “SO not the target audience…” but we know that’s not the case and if that ad just feel into the right hands… well God will use it
- ask people to write about their experience from last year or previous NA conferences. Start a public Tumblr blog and let people submit stories and pictures
-and random but effective - legal street art downtown - to peek interest
There are some places/areas that allow stenciling and stickers - so let’s paint the town NEXT
Those are great ideas, Kate! Thank you.
As you mentioned, we will be having affinity groups this year. If you have an idea for a group, please e-mail us and let us know. We want ideas!
We have also sent out a request for Next 2009 stories. If someone wants to share their story, they can do so here: http://29lv.sl.pt. We’re talking about ways we’d like to share them.
Thank you for the ideas. Keep them coming folks!
Way up here in Thunder Bay, ON, CANADA there’s an excellent partnership between some Baptist churches and a number of us will be heading to NEXT again this year. We’ll be doing a series of fundraising events to cover hotel costs (perogy sales and the an ultra-Canadian boot hockey tournament to name a few). Also in an effort to spread awareness of NEXT and hopefully a few to our number, we are holding an info/worship night this Sunday (January 17). Any extra promo info (pictures, videos from last year) would be greatly appreciated, but if you’d like to pray for this event it would be excellent. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to attend this unique conference and hope that God continues to spread His glory and truth in our local region because of how our lives are impacted by it.
Hey, Talita! Shout out for Canada! :D Thank you for reading the Next blog. Those are some really good ideas. Thanks for sharing. You can find 2009 videos on Sovereign Grace Ministries Vimeo page: http://vimeo.com/user844460. You can also find banners and wallpaper for your desktop (http://25uj.sl.pt). But, I’m sure you have already found them! :) We are so glad that you are coming to Next 2010. Thanks for spreading the word!
These are great suggestions! I may have to adopt some of these ideas for my church as well - especially the prayer cards!
